Querétaro tourist information

The State of Querétaro was founded on December 23, 1823. It has distinguished itself in recent years for being one of the two states in the country with the greatest dynamics of economic growth, since 1994 to date it has maintained a growth greater than the national one, This is due to the fact that national and transnational companies from the industrial, commercial and service sectors have settled in the state.

Our beautiful city has had an important role in the history of Mexico because in 1810 it was the headquarters of the conspiracy where the movement that would ultimately lead to the Independence of Mexico was forged. In 1867 Maximiliano de Habsburgo was defeated, captured and shot by republican forces, reestablishing the republican regime in Mexico. In 1917 the current Constitution was drawn up.

Our state has become the first destination without a beach in the country and the seventh among all; It has six Magical Towns, assigned for their great cultural, economic, tourist and historical value, which are: Bernal (2005), Jalpan de Serra (2010), Cadereyta de Montes (2011), Tequisquiapan (2012), San Joaquín (2015) and Amealco de Bonfil (2018).

The entity has three sites declared cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO, being the Zone of Historical Monuments of Querétaro in 1996, the Franciscan Missions of the Sierra Gorda in 2003 and the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro in 2010.
